little drunk infused soldiers....

This weekend was another landmark in the history of Pablo Eskimo.  The fun and games started on Friday evening at the vale, where Punto and the Feef, the SDSP, Filthy little secret, the and of course the Eskimo each played a storming gig.

The Eskimo were on top form, which is always a great thing, and we played a blinder, which did our ego's a world of good.  As when all gigs go well (and, I've also found, when they go very, very wrong) you tend to drink loads more when you go off stage; either with folk that thought you were good and want to buy you a drink, or just to drown your sorrows.

In any case, I got wasted.  On double vodkas and diet coke. Which was a good thing.  Or at least it was, until I realised that it was 5am, I can barely see and we're all due in the studio at 12 later on that day.

But, like proper little drink infused soldiers, we carried on.  After a few hours kip, we jump in a taxi and headed to the studios.  Not before going on the magical mystery tour of the west end just to try and find a flippin bank machine (which cost us 40p more as we spent a lot of time trying to type pin numbers in with one eye shut and the other squinting at the screen).  Anyways, we got to The Practice Pad (now known as aside studios…….it's pronounced a-side apparently, but we prefer to call it as-side – just because it's funny)  Colin, our engineer for the day is in the middle of setting up, so after some friendly banter, the Eskimo decide to head out for some food and, of course, some booze.

A wee trip to tesco and McDonalds sorted us out, and then it was back to the studio for some recording with some beers, some Bacardi and some cokes (the reason for the Bacardi?  It was the only spirit that the 3 of us can drink without one or the other of us throwing up at the taste)

First, Johnboy laid down the drums while we all played along. .  Soon it was my turn, laying down the bass line while listening to our guide track through the cans.  Then, Mr Bob laid down both the rhythm guitar and then lead.  Then the vocals were put right on top and it that was that…….with a copious amount of beer thrown in for good measure
For those of you who are now peeing your pants in anticipation of what we got recorded, I can now alleviate the suspense, and your bladders, and tell you that we recorded the following songs:

Flithy Crazy Sex

Dot Dot Dot (new one – without a name)

Post Rock Epic

We're proud to say that this is by far the best recording we've had done in a studio, and we're even more pleased that we got 3 of the songs that we all love recorded for all to hear.
Stay tuned to our page for updates, and of course to listen to the new tunes that will be put on our myspace page probably this weekend.

Bye for the noo!
